Unarguably England's most important folk group, Waterson:Carthy was created from the dynamic fusion of two generations, Norma Waterson and Martin Carthy and their daughter Eliza Carthy - living proof of the tenacity and vivacity of the folk tradition. Among many other honours and awards, each has been individually voted "Singer Of The Year" by the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. For any group to have such a highly rated talent in it would mark it out, but for a group to have three such singers is more than oustanding.
